3D Printing / Design
Learn some of the basics of 3D design and printing. This workshop will introduce you to the 3D modelling tool Tinkercad and the process to turn this design into a real 3D printed object.
We'll start by building a simple model that uses primitives, sketches, text and extrusion. This model will be exported as an STL file that can then be loaded into software that can generate g-code for the 3D printer.
Depending on the audience, we'll discuss topics such as infill percentages, supports, rafts and temperature settings.
We typically use a combination of our laser cutter and 3D printer to make our projects, this helps give students a better understanding of 2D vs 3D.
